Poem #20 of 30
Grateful
for the things that come to settle in my hand
like feathers from the sky
dropped from passing birds
these gifts from somewhere
people who arrive
with the answer to a question
with skill to do what’s needed
with words to soothe the beast
Opportunities that rise up exactly
as my hand begins to reach
for the next challenge
So very grateful
that the flow of life around
brings all this wonder to my feet

Mimi, this is a very lovely poem, I find your imagery to be very unique, soothing and motivating. I like the perspective about how we should be grateful for the people that enter our lives and the gifts that they bring to them, this is excellent writing! I also notice that you have written other impressive motivational poems in the month of April, including two other favourites of mine ‘Small Joys’ and ‘Gravity’.
I have an inspirational poetry journal called “Auroras & Blossoms Poetry Journal” that has just published its third issue and we are running a special NaPoWriMo Anthology issue for inspirational poems written in NaPoWriMo 2020. If you are interested in submitting any or all of the wonderful poems of yours that I just mentioned above (including Grateful) into our NaPoWriMo Anthology for publication then you can find more details below. We are also open to regular submissions all year round as well for inspirational poetry submissions.
